Schengen are Ian Mckenzie & Nick Varney

Before forming Schengen we played live and recorded under the name Insect Nation,
producing several home made compilation tapes and one studio demo, the Cushion Tracks ep.

Insect fact: Number of days a cockroach can survive without its head = 9

That self-financed demo lead to our first vinyl release, the Nyplex 12", as Schengen.

We chose the name Schengen because we liked the sound of the word.
Ian stumbled across it in reference to the Schengen Treaty.

The track Summation is not about Spatial Summation.
